A BIT ABOUT ME

Carlos León Cruz was born in Huaranchal, a remote town in the department of La Libertad – Peru in 1967 and lives and works in Trujillo, Peru.

His paintings explore the aesthetic proposal of the native pre-Columbian art of the northern coast of Peru. His characters contain a lithic sculpture influence, achieved through a technique that matches the figures painted with the texture of the stones, which is a metaphor for his perception of the history of his hometown.
